John Hales (also Hals or Halse; died 1490) was a medieval Bishop of Coventry and Lichfield. Hales was Dean of Exeter between 1457 and 1459.〔Ursula Radford (1955). Report & Transactions of the Devonshire Association 87: 1–24.〕 Briefly during the restoration of King Henry VI of England in 1470 Hales was named Keeper of the Privy Seal, but he lost the office on the restoration of King Edward IV of England in 1471.〔Fryde, et al.
